Patriot Portables: Born in Service for over 20 Years

Ken and Stephanie Wright have called Atlanta home since 2001.  They moved here shortly after graduating college in pursuit of jobs after 9/11.

Six months into their “careers” they decided corporate life wasn’t for them.

Against all odds, they opened a Paint Your Own Pottery studio in Discover Mills Mall in Lawrenceville, GA.    The Painted Potter was born in 2001 and is still thriving today under different owners.  If you’ve been in Atlanta for any period of time, most likely you’ve received a coffee mug or a Christmas ornament as a gift from their studio.

In 2004 Stephanie and Ken decided to branch out to open a food company.  They had a novel idea to create a studio kitchen where customers could come in, enjoy some wine, and make dinners to take home and freeze.  They created Dinner A’Fare.  www.DinnerAFare.com.  That simple idea caught fire and in two years they had opened sixty locations around the US.  Business was booming and just as they were set to expand again, the Great Recession of 2008 set in and they decided to pivot.

In 2008 the original Meal Kit was born and they started delivering and shipping across the nation.
Twenty years later Dinner A’Fare still delivers dinners to families all across the country.

During COVID, when the country was in lock down, Ken and Stephanie were busier than ever trying to make sure that their customers had access to all of their meals.  Their kitchen was bursting at the seams, and they needed to rent tons of equipment to keep everybody socially distanced.

One of the items they rented was a portable restroom.  Actually they ordered two restrooms, and they were just not up to the standards of a “restroom” that Ken or Stephanie wanted their employees to use.

“It broke my heart that we were using these gross restrooms during COVID but we really had not choice”

In the heart of COVID, Ken and Stephanie saw an industry with a negative image and decided, “we can do this better.  We can have the cleanest and best portable restrooms in Atlanta.  Actually we can have the best porta potties in the country.  We can provide contractors and event planners with restrooms they can be proud of.”

Patriot Portables was born with the idea to bring dignity to an essential human need.

“We answer the phone.   We answer the phone on the first ring and we take care of your order immediately.  It’s not complicated really.  You want a super clean restroom at your construction site or event that you’re not embarrassed of.  You want it to be delivered on time and you want it to be spotless and actually smell good.”
